Capital World Markets (CWM FX) – Investor Claims
Overview
In March 2015, Capital World Markets (CWM FX), a foreign exchange trading firm, collapsed following a major police operation. Over £50–70 million was lost, affecting hundreds of investors worldwide.
In May 2023, the firm's founder, Anthony Constantinou, was convicted of multiple counts of fraud and money laundering in relation to the scheme. He was sentenced in absentia to 14 years’ imprisonment in June 2023 and remains at large.
FS Litigation's Involvement
FS Litigation has been instructed by a number of high-net-worth individuals who were advised by professional intermediaries to invest in the CWM FX scheme. Many of these advisers failed to conduct adequate due diligence or disclose commissions received for promoting the scheme.
Legal Recovery Options
Despite the criminal convictions, investors still have viable civil claims. If you were advised to invest in CWM FX by a financial adviser or accountant, you may be entitled to bring a claim against them and their professional indemnity insurers.
Such claims are typically brought on a no-win, no-fee basis and may include recovery of capital, commissions, fees, and related losses.
